The second day of BMW India Bridal Fashion Week saw three shows from designers Ashima Leena, Falguni and Shane Peacock and Tarun Tahiliani.
Ashima Leena’s Dakshna the designer tried to bring a sense of purity and tradition for our brides at that of South India. South India has been a glorious tradition, the temples are the beauty. This collection takes elements from the motifs, jewellery, fabrics and drapes. Finely appliquéd temple motifs on rich silks, hand embroidered jeweled motifs and borders bring subtle illumination. Organza, French net and specially woven silks and brocades are the highlights of this stunning collection.
Bright Intense, contrasting hues of Indigos, Crimsons, Beiges, Fuchsia, Marigold, Orange, Gold’s, Emeralds and Blacks amalgamate to create this offering. Embellishments include embroideries infused with semi-precious jewels and patterns of the temple jewellery, delicate and fine tassels border on the hemlines of blouses and cuffs.The designs were the true image of the mesmerizing Southern India and the designer truly did a great job showcasing it.
FALGUNI & SHANE PEACOCK
Falguni and Shane Peacock took to the romance of France for their bridal collection of cocktail gowns. The Swaorvski studded floor scrapers went from champagne to sun colours ending with black. Athiya Shetty and Sooraj Pancholi’s ramp debut before their movie debuts was met with applause—Shetty’s towering frame makes her a natural on the runway.
