Though Road Trips and camping may seem pretty unglamorous, they are the ones which keeps me alive. Getting back in touch with nature is the best therapy and is the best form of healing.

NATURE’S THERAPY! – Avalebetta and Gadibande fort

It had been more than 6 months since I had last been near pure nature, and the craving to be in the wonderland of nature kept on increasing day by day! The hectic schedules and the city pollution urged me more to run away from the noise! There was nature calling me to and relax and listen to its melody.

Decathlon had arranged for a trek to kudremukh near Chickmanglur.. I was excited to go but then it did not get along with my schedule, Glad it did not happen because we got to plan the best road short road trip of all times!
Avalebetta is around 90kms away from Bangalore; further 20kms away from Nandi hills. This is a lesser known place where the crowd is sparingly seen as well its untouched by the litter of mankind. There is no traffic or pollution which is now evident in Nandi hills as well. The climb to the top is hardly 1000 steps. It cant be considered as a trek. The ride along the country side offers us a breathtaking view of the lush green farms and rolling hillocks with distant landscapes to enthrall us.
Its a ride to the bottom of the tiny hill and some steps up the hill to reach a temple. But what beholds behind the temple is a beautiful wonderland. The natures bounty is beyond explanation. There are 2 small ponds, one with trees and small grassland around making seem like a fantasy land. The other one is like in-between rocks and like a creator, Beyond which is a beautiful view point all around.

Some Marigold farms were on our way and we had a small pit stop there before riding to the next destination. Fully bloomed marigold was one sight you don’t see day in and out.
The next pit-stop was Gudibande fort near ananthpura. Gudibande is a small town about 100 km from Bengaluru. Go on NH-7 towards Hyderabad and take diversion after Chikkaballapur. 10 km from highway is the town of Gudibande. The fort is situated in the town itself. We parked our vehicle at the base and started our walk. Initial stretch of the fort is well paved.
The fort seemed to be massive one with huge walls and a lot of boulders untouched though situated in the town. Once u start exploring the place is filled with more and more things to explore. Caves and surang marg and loads of beautiful greenery.
This was the wonderful weekend Wanderlust expedition we all had keep following for more travel stories!
